While not a determing factor in whether a player makes it to the NBA, it's a big deal to a lot of scouts since you can't teach height, length, or any other athletic attribute. But you can teach skills to develop players.
Villanova's Josh Hart has spent plenty of time during his career hearing about how he's an undersized power forward who isn't that athletic, but in reality his best chance in the NBA is at the shooting guard position. He's a plus-defender in most people's eyes who will crash the glass and has the ability to knock down shots.
