Villanova only has one representative on the women’s basketball preseason all-Big East team, and it’s Mary Gedaka.
Gedaka, a 6-foot-1 junior, was named the Big East Sixth Woman of the Year last season. She averaged 11.6 points and led the conference in shooting percentage—converting on 60.3 percent of her shots as a sophomore.
The conference preseason Player of the Year was given to Marquette’s Allazia Blockton. The preseason Freshman of the Year belonged to Kadaja Bailey of St. John’s.
