Happy Monday, 'Nova Nation! On-campu home and homes are awesome right? College basketball needs more elite programs willing to do it?
I was pretty disappointed to see John Calipari poo-poo a potential home-and-home series with Indiana. Recently Cal hasn't shied away from it (they've had home-and-homes with Louisville, UCLA and Kansas to name a few), so this one seemed odd.
But maybe it's because he's starting to realize the downside of it. A neutral site, made-for-TV event benefits a program like Kentucky and a coach like Calipari because it brings extra media attention to him. And a neutral site, with the way Big Blue Nation travels, will almost always offer Kentucky a home atmosphere at best and a true neutral game at worst.
