For the third straight time, the Butler Bulldogs has beaten the Villanova Wildcats once again.
No. 1 Villanova (13-1) was overwhelmed by the sharpshooting effort by Butler (12-3), losing 101-93.
It was the first time since the Creighton Bluejays in 2014 that an opponent dropped over 100 points on the Wildcats.
After a back-and-forth start to the game, Butler started to separate itself from Villanova, shooting the lights out from deep. The Bulldogs took a 53-48 lead at the half.
The Wildcats would use a 14-0 run in the second half to trim the lead down to as close as six, after a hot start to the half by the Bulldogs stretched their lead to as high as 23.
