The Villanova Wildcats are preparing for their Final Four matchup against the Kansas Jayhawks.
Before they get to that, however, co-captain Jalen Brunson will add one more accolade to his trophy case and long-winded resume: the Associated Press’ 2017-18 National Player of the Year.
Brunson becomes the first Villanovan to have ever received such an award. He joins an exclusive club that includes past greats like Shaquille O’Neal, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, and David Robinson.
“It’s really humbling and it’s something that you can’t really put into words,” Brunson said.
