The quarterfinals at the Big East Tournament featured a pair of games that were blowouts (Xavier and Villanova predicatably romped) while the late tip in both sessions gave us some games to remember.
Butler scratched and clawed their way back against Seton Hall, and Tyler Wideman’s tip-in with under 5 seconds to go proved to be the winner. The Bulldogs get Villanova in tonight’s late-tip semi-final.
The teams split the regular season series (a welcome change for Villanova fans), and Butler is still fighting for their NCAA Tournament bid. Last night was probably enough to secure their spot, but after winning their first Big East Tournament game ever they’ll want to cause more havoc.
