This week marks Villanova’s first trip to the Final Four since 2009. While the gap between appearances might not seem that wide, as we explored in similar fashion back in February, for Jay Wright’s program it marks two very different eras split by a change in recruiting philosophy.
The Wildcats were riding high following their trip to the '08 Sweet Sixteen and '09 Final Four, and as a result were recruiting at an unprecedented level -- signing six ESPN 100 prospects in a matter of two years.
