Vegas Golden Knights: Streak continues, other takeaways

It was the second time in less than a week that the Vegas Golden Knights had beaten a Stanley Cup Champion, and this was yet another real statement win.

The Golden Knights dominated from the first drop of the puck and they got their just rewards in the first period.

William Carrier and Tomas Nosek played a beautiful game of tic-tac-toe and it resulted in Nick Holden tipping in a feed from Carrier past Braden Holtby.

The Knights kept their foot on the gas and they doubled their lead late in the first when Reilly Smith finished a feed from Jonathan Marchessault after the latter had weaved his way through the neutral zone before dumping the puck in.
