David Perron’s wrist shot from the slot with 1:08 remaining in overtime lifted the Golden Knights to a 5-4 win over the Buffalo Sabres Tuesday in front of an announced crowd of 17,617 at T-Mobile Arena.
For Perron, it was his second of the game and of the season as he had scored in the third period to give the Knights a 4-1 lead. But the Sabres chipped away and Evander Kane batted the puck out of the air with 8.9 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game 4-4 after Sam Reinhart scored during a 6-on-4 power play with 1:58 remaining to cut it to 4-3.
