The grass is not always greener on the other side.
Such has been the case for original Misfit Jonathan Marchessault this past season. After a contentious contract negotiation, Marchessault left the Vegas Golden Knights to join the Nashville Predators on a five-year deal worth $5.5 million AAV. The former Conn Smythe Trophy winner was one of several marquee free agent signings the Predators made last summer, joining Steven Stamkos and Brady Skjei on big-money deals.
Unfortunately, the strategy did not pay off for the Predators.
The Predators finished with their worst season in franchise history, putting up a record of 30-44-8 for a total of 68 points.
