Forward James Neal continued his hot hand, scoring twice in the first period as the Golden Knights built an early 4-0 lead and went on to win their home debut Tuesday night at T-Mobile Arena, defeating the Arizona Coyotes 5-2 before a sellout crowd of 18,191.
The Knights became the first expansion team in NHL history to begin 3-0.
Neal, who scored both game-winning goals in the Knights’ first two games, added his fourth and fifth goals of the season after Tomas Nosek and Deryk Engelland had scored 1:47 apart to put the Knights ahead 2-0.
The team’s debut was preceded by an emotional ceremony that paid tribute to the first responders and victims of the Oct.
