The Golden Knights made another round of training camp cuts Monday. And hat-trick hero Tyler Wong was among the casualties.
Wong will join the training camp of the Chicago Wolves, the Knights’ American Hockey League affiliate, along with fellow forward Keegan Kolesar, defenseman Jake Bischoff and goaltenders Oscar Dansk and Maxime Lagace.
Wong, 21, was in training camp on an AHL contract and was a longshot to make the roster. The 5-foot-9-inch sniper scored three goals and finished with four points in the Knights’ 9-4 win over Vancouver to open the preseason and quickly became a fan favorite.
