DALLAS — James Neal broke a 1-1 tie with 2:44 remaining in regulation with a sensational goal, and the Golden Knights rallied to win their NHL debut 2-1 over the Dallas Stars on Friday night.
Neal had scored the first goal in franchise history, as he beat backup goaltender Kari Lehtonen with a wrist shot from the top of the right faceoff circle with 9:33 remaining. The goal brought the Knights even after trailing 1-0 after two periods following Tyler Seguin’s power-play goal late in the second period. Seguin redirected Devin Shore’s shot from the point, and it eluded Marc-Andre Fleury.
