DENVER — Different lineup, same result.
The Golden Knights brought a more veteran group to the Pepsi Center Tuesday for their second NHL preseason game and the veterans came through as the Knights defeated the Colorado Avalanche 4-1 to improve to 2-0.
The Knights, who won their first-ever preseason game 9-4 Sunday in Vancouver over the Canucks, played a lot of their young players in that game. Tuesday, the lineup resembled a more realistic look of what opening night on Oct. 6 may be like.
Goals by Brad Hunt, Jonathan Marchessault and Oscar Lindberg over a 2:31 span in the first period gave the Knights an early 3-0 lead.
