BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Golden Knights allowed three goals on five shots in the second period Monday and lost to the Buffalo Sabres 4-2 in front of an announced crowd of 16,004 at KeyBank Center.
Erik Haula scored in the second period to cut Buffalo’s lead to 2-1, and Jonathan Marchessault added his second goal of the season with 9:13 remaining in the third.
Jack Eichel had two goals for Buffalo. Marco Scandella and Jason Pominville scored 1:28 apart in the second period to put the Sabres on top 4-1.
Buffalo goaltender Carter Hutton finished with 35 saves.
