NEWARK, N.J. — Golden Knights forward Erik Haula underwent surgery on his right knee after he was injured last month, general manager George McPhee confirmed Friday.
“He did have surgery,” McPhee said. “It’s a unique injury.”
Haula was hurt during a 3-1 loss at Toronto on Nov. 6 when he was driven into the boards by Maple Leafs forward Patrick Marleau.
Haula crumpled to the ice and immediately clutched his knee, which appeared to buckle as he went down from the impact of the hard but legal check. The 27-year-old was removed from the Scotiabank Arena ice on a stretcher.
