William Karlsson broke a 1-1 tie near the midway point of the third period and the Golden Knights defeated the New York Rangers 2-1 Sunday at T-Mobile Arena as the Knights wrapped up the first half of their inaugural NHL season.
The Knights, who have the next five days off as part of their mandatory bye week, are 29-10-2 and have the best record in the Western Conference while leading the Pacific Division with 60 points
The Rangers, who enjoyed plenty of support from the sellout crowd of 18,234, the largest attendance of the season, took a 1-0 lead when Mika Zibanejad wristed a shot past Marc-Andre Fleury 13:05 into the game.
