Golden Knights blank Capitals 3-0 to end homestand unbeaten

The Golden Knights scored three times over the first 14:55 and that was all the scoring they would need in their 3-0 win over the Washington Capitals Saturday at T-Mobile Arena.

The Knights, who wrapped up a five-game homestand by going 4-0-1, head into the three-day Christmas break with a 23-9-2 overall record, 15-2-1 at home.

Alex Tuch, Oscar Lindberg and William Karlsson had the first-period goals as the Knights dominated in the Washington end. The Capitals (22-13-2) played with more energy over the final 40 minutes. But they were unable to rally as Marc-Andre Fleury turned aside 26 shots in notching his first shutout in a Knights uniform and the 45th of his career.
