The National Hockey League took a step closer to returning to the ice, as the NHL Players Association voted 29-2 in favor of the Return To Play committee’s proposed 24-team playoff format on Friday. The league and the NHLPA still have to hammer out other issues, but it is believed that players will gather at some point in June for an abbreviated training camp and begin the Stanley Cup Playoffs in mid-to-late July.
