Ralph Webb has carried Vanderbilt’s offense for most of the season, so Commodores fans won’t like to hear that injuries are forcing a “running back by committee.”

Coach Derek Mason said Webb’s ankle issues have forced the team to adjust its offensive plans as it prepares to play host to Ole Miss on Saturday.

Webb’s numbers have tailed off considerably. He carried 11 times for 34 yards in last week’s 26-17 loss to Missouri and 13 for 46 yards the previous week against Auburn.

“Ralph was healthier earlier in the year and getting healthy now,” said Mason, who described the approach as a “running back by committee.
