What the hell was that?

Related Topics: Three-point field goal

Entering Saturday’s game, Vanderbilt was shooting 39.1 percent on three-pointers this season, 27th in the country. Missouri was shooting 28.7 percent on threes, good for 343rd in the country.

So of course, Vanderbilt couldn’t shoot worth a lick and Missouri was making basically everything. Because with the way this season has gone, it makes perfect sense.

For one thing, Missouri joins a long line of opposing teams that can’t shoot but suddenly found a way to hit every damn thing against Vanderbilt’s defense (if we want to call it that.) This was compounded by Southeastern Conference officiating (I’d call it “incompetent” but this is par for the course for SEC refs) and also by Vanderbilt’s offense deciding to take the day off.
