Warren Belin returns as linebacker coach as Vandy starts spring practice

Vanderbilt has brought back a familiar face to lead its linebacker unit just in time for the beginning of spring practice.

The Commodores opened spring drills Monday and have hired Warren Belin to take over as linebackers coach. Belin will take the place of former linebackers coach Osia Lewis, who is stepping into a different role within the program as he battles liver cancer.

If Belin’s name sounds familiar to Vanderbilt fans, there’s a good reason. He previously held the same position with the Commodores from 2002-09 under Bobby Johnson. Since that time, he’s coached at Georgia, with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers and at Wake Forest.
