On Tuesday, Vanderbilt reeled in a major recruit...who won't get to campus for another three years. Four-star athlete Alontae Taylor made the decision to commit to the Commodores yesterday.Taylor currently plays for nearby Coffee County Central HS in Manchester, TN, and is Derek Mason's first commit for the class of 2018. Taylor announced his decision in two separate tweets:
I would like to thank God for everything none of this would be possible without him With tht being said I have decided to Verbal Commit to..

What followed was a series of Tweets from the coaching staff, most noticeably Coach Derek Mason himself (assuming this is about the commitment, of course)

Current Class of 2016 commit and soon to be early-enrollee QB Deuce Wallace even joined the excitement around #Vanderbilt on Tiwtter, which was absolutely fascinating to read:
Taylor is rated a 4-star prospect, according to 247Sports, and is rated as a Top-5 player in the state of Tennessee.
