Vanderbilt’s Andrew Jelks, a two-year starter at tackle for the Commodores, will miss his second consecutive season because of an injury. His talent and versatility — Jelks can play both tackle spots as well as center – would’ve supplied a big boost to a Vandy offensive line that struggled last season.
Jelks missed last season with a torn ACL and will miss this season with another knee injury, though the specifics remain unknown.
Jelks tweeted out his disappointment Thursday night.
There are no words to describe how I am feeling. I am beyond sorry I won't be able to play with my brothers this year.
