Vanderbilt football shakes up coaching staff

After a 2-10 season in his third year, Vanderbilt football coach Clark Lea elected to make some changes to his coaching staff for the 2024 season, per a release from the university.

Out is offensive coordinator Joey Lynch, just two days after AJ Swann and Ken Seals — the two quarterbacks who started for Vanderbilt in 2023 — announced their departures from the program. The offense’s performance this season really was indefensible, as the Commodores averaged 16.9 ppg in SEC play, and the regression and eventual transfer of Swann, who followed up a promising freshman season by becoming a turnover machine as a sophomore and getting benched midway through the season, was a mark against the guy who also served as Vanderbilt’s quarterbacks coach.
