Vanderbilt fined $100,000 for storming the court after victory over Kentucky

Fans storm the court after Vanderbilt defeated #16 Kentucky 74-62 February 27, 2016.

The $100,000 figure comes from an SEC policy. Saturday's game was considered Vanderbilt's second time storming the court or field after the policy's enactment in 2004. The first time was in 2007, following a mens' basketball victory over Florida. Any future court-storming or field-storming would result in a $250,000 fine for Vanderbilt.

"We love the enthusiasm our fans bring to the game, and we don’t want to dampen that in any way," said Rod Williamson, Associate Director of Athletics. "Students put the ‘magic’ in the term ‘Memorial Magic’ and their support is needed.
