Mississippi State (14-5-1, 2-0 SEC) defeated Vanderbilt (16-3, 0-2 SEC) on Saturday night by the final score of 5-4, marking Vanderbilt’s first 0-2 start to conference play since 2012. Vanderbilt came up a run short for the second consecutive night, as the separation between the two teams has been razor thin through two ballgames.
