A hot shooting performance carried the Vanderbilt Commodores past the previously-undefeated Tennessee State Tigers by a score of 83-59 at Memorial Gym on Tuesday night.

Vanderbilt used a 14-0 run at the end of the first half to turn what had been a fairly competitive game into a rout. The Commodores led 43-22 at the half and coasted from there; Tennessee State never got the margin closer than 18 points in the second half.

Matthew Fisher-Davis led all scorers with 22 points, one shy of his career high. On the evening, the Commodores shot 54 percent from the floor and 10-of-23 from three-point range, and Vanderbilt also had a 39-20 rebounding edge.
