Vanderbilt can’t keep Alabama off the glass, loses 59-56

Remember how the other night I said sometimes this still looks like a Kevin Stallings team? That applies in more ways than one.

On Saturday night, Vanderbilt took a tie game at halftime, built a 14-point lead six minutes into the second half, and then watched the lead evaporate. Sound familiar?

Vanderbilt shot 35.7 percent from the floor and held Alabama to 31.7 percent — and 7-of-25 from three. But Alabama got way too many second chances, grabbing 20 offensive rebounds, and that was enough for the Tide to come away with a 59-56 win in a script that’s way too familiar to Vanderbilt fans.
