Derek Mason beating out Jim Harbaugh for an offensive line prospect? Yes, and the latest commitment is good news for Vanderbilt fans.
Center Dan Dawkins is committing to Vanderbilt for the class of 2018, the lineman announced on Twitter.
Dawkins (6 feet 3, 296 pounds) plays for Hightstown (N.J.) Peddie School and is considered one of the top-10 centers nationally. A three-star prospect, Dawkins had picked up offers from the likes of Michigan, Virginia, Missouri and North Carolina.
Dawkins is Vandy’s third commitment for the 2018 class. One of the others is his quarterback at Peddie, Allan Walters.
