Gone are some of the household names like Dansby Swanson and Carson Fulmer but in their place are the budding stars of today, Jeren Kendall and Jordan Sheffield.
Kendall, who hit four home runs last postseason, was the star of the show with a pair of home runs, five RBIs, three runs and four hits, all of which were career-highs.
The sophomore right fielder got the offense going early with a two-run home run to in the third inning and gave the team a much-needed cushion in the eighth with a deep drive that cleared the right field bleachers.
