Shurmur had a solid showing, completing seven of nine passes for 96 yards, including one 32-yard throw to wide receiver CJ Duncan, who missed all of last season with an injury. Shurmur said he felt a little more comfortable and confident out there entering his second season.
“I wasn’t as nervous, that’s for sure,” Shurmur said. “That’s the one thing. We’ve all improved so much just from experience. It was great to be out here and I feel like I improved a bit since last season.”
Duncan had himself a solid return, catching two passes for a total of 50 yards.
