OK, so the NCAA made a ruling Friday that will keep coaches on campus for their summer camps. The new rule will not let them travel all over the country as “guests” at other people’s camps or host “satellite camps” away from campus. Coaches who wanted to do these satellite camps wanted the opportunity to take their brand into another part of the country, which, they hoped, would help them in recruiting. I get that.
The ACC and the SEC were against this idea because they have rules in place that don’t allow their coaches to be involved.
