Report: Jerry Stackhouse interviews for UNC job

When Jerry Stackhouse became Vanderbilt’s head basketball coach in 2019, the speculation was that if he were successful here, he would become a candidate for the North Carolina job if and when Roy Williams retired.

Roy Williams has retired, Jerry Stackhouse has a 20-37 record in two years at Vanderbilt, and the Raleigh News & Observer reports that Stackhouse interviewed for the North Carolina job over the weekend:

North Carolina athletic director Bubba Cunningham interviewed a lineup of men’s basketball coaching candidates suggested by former coach Roy Williams and all have ties to UNC, according to two sources familiar with the process.
