Hugh Freeze is seeing his hard work on the recruiting trail finally come to fruition. The Ole Miss Rebels are 4-0 (2-0 in the Southeastern Conference), but their 27-16 win against the Vanderbilt Commodores was definitely closer than expected
The final score may have been tipped in favor of Ole Miss, but Vandy was hanging around. Junior transfer quarterback Chad Kelly had Ole Miss rolling with a 20-yard touchdown completion to Damore’ea Stringfellow, but two field goals in the second quarter left the door open for the Commodores.
After a field goal to open up the second half, sophomore quarterback Johnny McCrary capped off a seven-play, 80-yard drive with a seven-yard touchdown pass to running back Ralph Webb.
