When LSU coach Les Miles was fired Sunday, defensive line coach Ed Orgeron was named interim coach.
Orgeron has done this before.
After Lane Kiffin was fired at USC five games into the 2013 season, Orgeron became the interim coach. The Trojans were 6-2 in their last eight games. Orgeron, 55, who was coach at Ole Miss from 2005-07, received a lot of support – especially from Trojans players – to get the permanent job. But then-athletic director Pat Haden hired Steve Sarkisian away from Washington.
