Like Romo, these former SEC standouts became NFL stars despite going undrafted

Tony Romo — who announced his retirement Tuesday to take an analyst’s job with CBS — certainly wasn’t the only undrafted player to make it big in the NFL (he earned almost $128 million during his career). Indeed, there are 16 Pro Football Hall of Famers from the draft era (1938 on) — including Lou Groza, Dick “Night Train” Lane, Larry Little and John Randle — who entered the NFL as free agents.

While none of the 16 are SEC alums, the league nevertheless can claim a distinguished list of undrafted stars of its own.
