Here’s a look at the top three individual performances by SEC players from the weekend.
There were a number of praise-worthy performances — so many, in fact, that we actually picked four players. Hey, it was the final week of the regular season, so why not bend the rules a bit.
3. Mississippi State QB Nick Fitzgerald AND Vanderbilt QB Kyle Shurmur
The skinny: Both quarterbacks had huge performances in upsets in rivalry games, so we picked them both. Fitzgerald ran for a school-record 258 yards and two TDs, and passed for 109 yards and three TDs as the Bulldogs crushed host Ole Miss 55-20 in the Egg Bowl.
