Jordan Sheffield, Kyle Wright Named Golden Spikes Semifinalists

Vanderbilt's No. 1 and 2 starters are still in the running for the most prestigious award in college baseball.

Two Commodores have been named semifinalists for college baseball's Heisman Trophy.

The Golden Spikes Award goes to the top amateur baseball player in the nation. In 2016, that could be either of Vanderbilt's aces Jordan Sheffield and Kyle Wright.

Wright and Sheffield were two of seven SEC players to be named to the list of 25 semifinalists. Vanderbilt and Louisville were the only two schools with multiple players on the ballot. They beat out teammates Bryan Reynolds and Jeren Kendall for inclusion.
