Jamauri Wakefield, Cornerback-Trucking Running Back, Officially Signs With Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt's stable of tailbacks just got a bit thicker. The Commodores added 210 pound runner Jamauri Wakefield when he faxed his letter of intent to Natchez Trace on National Signing Day.

Wakefield ran for nearly 200 yards per game as a senior at Providence High School in Jacksonville, FL. He gained an average of 9.2 yards per carry in the four games recorded by MaxPreps this season. The big-bodied back picked Vandy over scholarship offers from Maryland, Pittsburgh, Northwestern, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, and Oregon State. Here are his senior year highligh-oh my goodness that poor cornerback at 0:32.
