Could Jay Cutler follow in Tony Romo’s footsteps in pursuing a career in broadcasting?
According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, it’s a possibility. On Thursday, Garafolo reported that Cutler is exploring a post-football career in broadcasting, according to multiple television sources and “people with knowledge of Cutler’s thinking.”
Cutler and his representatives reportedly have spoken with network executives about football-related TV roles and sources told Garafolo that the former Bears quarterback has auditioned with at least one network in recent weeks.
Jon Greenberg of The Athletic in Chicago also confirmed hearing rumors of Cutler retiring to pursue a broadcasting career, adding that he could specifically be working with FOX Sports in the future.
