Vanderbilt’s best defensive player last season was inside linebacker Zach Cunningham, but Commodores coach Derek Mason says that while this season’s inside ‘backers might lack experience, they don’t lack talent.
Mason was on 104.5 The Zone in Nashville on Thursday to talk about Saturday’s “Spring Showcase” at Vandy, which concludes the Commodores’ spring drills. He was asked about the defensive improvements he hopes to see in 2017.
“Up front, we’re going to be better. We’ve got a lot of experience back on the back end,” he said. “We’re not as experienced at the inside linebacker position.
