Is Vanderbilt Floyd Mayweather or Conor McGregor? Derek Mason chose an interesting analogy when describing the Commodores’ opener with Middle Tennessee.
The mason compared Saturday’s gridiron kickoff to last weekend’s super welterweight boxing matchup during an appearance on “The Greg Pogue & Big Joe Show” on Nashville-based radio station WNSR.
Mason said that while Vanderbilt is aware of the danger from Blue Raiders quarterback Brent Stockstill and his top two wide receivers, Richie James and Ty Lee, it’s hard to simulate their skills in practice. He believes it’ll take time before each team knows what to expect from the other – just like last Saturday’s action in the ring.
