The second Saturday of the season was seen as rather dreary, especially compared to the first weekend. But one school had to hang on during an afternoon game to avoid a monumental upset.

Georgia 26, Nicholls State 24
The Bulldogs avoided what likely would’ve been the most embarrassing loss in school history by holding off their FCS opponent in their 2016 home opener. Georgia (2-0) took a 26-14 lead late in the third quarter, then had to hold on to edge the Colonels (0-1).
