Dansby Swanson promoted to AAAA Atlanta Braves

Dansby Swanson will be the next #VandyBoy to make it to the big leagues. The Atlanta Braves announced on Tuesday they would promote the former No. 1 overall pick from AA Mississippi.

Swanson is expected to start Wednesday night's game against the Minnesota Twins, where he'll play shortstop.

Swanson was batting .277 with 10 home runs, 66 RBI, and 13 stolen bases. He is the second veteran from Vanderbilt's back-to-back College World Series finalists to earn his call to the majors, behind Chicago White Sox reliever and murderball-throwing monster Carson Fulmer.

Atlanta, which I'm told actually plays in the major leagues, is in the middle of a massive rebuild that was aided when they shipped Shelby Miller (and others) for Swanson (and others).
