Anchor Drop, March 31, 2018: Commodores drop opener at Florida

Good morning.

The Vanderbilt baseball team lost the opener of a three-game series at Florida, 8-4, on Friday night. Philip Clarke hit a solo homer in the seventh, and Stephen Scott connected on a three-run bomb in the eighth, but that wasn’t enough to overcome a five-run seventh inning by the Gators. The Commodores dropped to 17-9 overall and 5-2 in the SEC. They’ll play again today at 11:00 AM CT, with Patrick Raby on the hill. Today’s game will be broadcast on ESPNU.

Men’s tennis dropped to 15-5 and 5-2 in the SEC with a 4-3 loss to ninth-ranked Texas A&M on Friday.
