Anchor Drop, April 9, 2021: A Very Bad Day

Good morning.

Optional Musical Accompaniment

Well, yesterday wasn’t a great one for Vanderbilt fans.

We’ll start with the bowling team ending its season with back-to-back losses to Nebraska in the regional finals of the NCAA Championship. It was still a successful season, with the Commodores claiming a Southland Bowling League title, but it won’t end with the program’s third national championship.

And at the Hawk, Vanderbilt starter Kumar Rocker gave up a three-run homer in the first inning and the Commodores never got even, with things spiraling out of control in the late innings as Georgia claimed a 14-2 win over the Commodores.
