VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC confirmed on Wednesday that due to two inconclusive COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (“PCR”) test results requiring follow up, the club’s chartered flight to the 2020 MLS is Back Tournament in Florida was postponed today. All subsequent test results are now confirmed to be negative and the club is working on rescheduling the flight.
“It is paramount we make certain all precautions are taken and as a result we postponed today’s flight and the entire travelling party will be tested again tomorrow,” said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC chief executive officer and sporting director.
