VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC selected Spanish midfielder/forward Jorge Gomez Sanchez in the third round (51st overall) of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft on Tuesday.
Last Friday, Whitecaps FC selected right back Jakob Nerwinski in the first round (seventh overall) and centre back Francis de Vries in the second round (29th overall) of the SuperDraft.

- Started all 36 of his appearances at Temple, tallying 27 goals and eight assists in two years
- Named to the NSCAA All-East Region and All-American Athletic Conference teams following each of his two years
- Spanish native played club soccer for Unión Deportiva Talavera and the Club Atlético Osasuna Academy
Gomez Sanchez, 21, spent the last two years at Temple University, where he started all 36 of his appearances for the Owls, tallying 27 goals and eight assists from 2015 through 2016.
