VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Monday the first roster decisions ahead of the 2021 season and provided an overall roster update.
The club exercised the 2021 MLS contract options for goalkeepers Isaac Boehmer and Thomas Hasal, right back Jake Nerwinski, centre back Derek Cornelius, central midfielders Michael Baldisimo and Patrick Metcalfe, as well as forward Theo Bair.
As one of the youngest teams in MLS, Whitecaps FC currently have 25 players under contract for next season including 14 players 23 years old or younger.
“We have built a solid foundation of youth and experience and following significant turn over the past two off-seasons, we are pleased to have the overwhelming majority of our roster returning for 2021,” explained Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC CEO and sporting director.
